Wedding advise:
Wedding photography is best during the late afternoon before the sun sets in the west. For example: the ceremony should be started approximately 2 - 2½ hours before sunset, therefore allowing photographers to accomplish their tasks before all light is completely lost.
Try not to schedule a wedding ceremony between 11 am - 2 pm during the months of November, December, January, February, & March especially when the daylight savings observance (time turned backwards 1 hour) schedules sunset earlier. During those months ceremonies should start between 3 pm - 4 pm. In return when we turn clocks forward, wedding ceremonies should not be scheduled between 11 am - 4 pm. During the "time forward" months ceremonies should start between 4 pm - 5:30 pm and sometimes up until 6:30 pm when sunset is after 8 pm.
Scheduling during the "bad" hours does not offer good lighting for planned portraits. The sun is usually too high and extremely bright. Shadows also appear on the face below the eyes and nose and ones head may cast a large shadow on the chest or shoulders. In addition walking around in a gown or tuxedo, especially in Florida during the middle of the day can be very uncomfortable. Your photographer may not be at their best if they are also uncomfortable. The desirable time schedules are just suggestions and one shouldn't worry if your venue cannot be scheduled exactly during the best hours. An experienced photographer will still do their best to ensure that your photography is acceptable.
So you found an affordable location for your ceremony and reception. Does it offer good natural sunlight? Is the surrounding landscape well maintained and ideal for romantic photography? If planned photography is on the beach, is the surrounding area clean and attractive for wedding portraits? Will the sun be behind you or in front of you?
Speaking to an experienced professional photographer before scheduling a ceremony may be the best way to make sure your photography is completed with acceptable surroundings and lighting. Plan to do it the best possible way the first time. These are your memories for life. We do not get a second chance to experience the moment.
